The strong community feeling at Kelmscott River Gardens is just one of the many attractions of this riverside village under one roof. The view to the east across the lush green local park to the nearby hills is rivaled only by the magnificent panoramic view of the Canning River to the west. Tidy gardens and shaded courtyards offer delightful activity or resting areas, whilst the quiet country neighbourhood is perfect for a casual, unhurried stroll. The large activity room bustles with residents practicing their life-collected skills or learning new ones. All manner of crafts are encouraged and accomplished, resulting in proud displays of the finished work for visitors to admire.
The River Gardens house mother does mending for the residents; tidying their wardrobes and making sure their needs are met. A visiting beautician helps the ladies to feel special and boost their self-confidence with enhancing treatments like face masks and waxing. Built as a low care hostel, River Gardens has 45 beds and is currently the smaller of our four facilities. As residents age-in-place and their care needs increase, the rural location of the community and lovingly-tended gardens help to enhance their enjoyment of life, providing them with a secure but, at the same time, ambient environment amongst friends.
